    DEPARTMENT: Transportation

    REPORTS TO: Transportation Manager

    JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the safe transport and timely delivery of Goldman Equipment, LLC’s large agricultural farm equipment and other inventory and equipment to and from the customers’ locations, between the Company’s dealerships, other John Deere dealerships and from the John Deere factories. Also responsible to understand and follow the Department’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manual as well as all Local, State, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Conduct pre-trip inspection of vehicle and trailer and note any problems found on DVIR (Daily Vehicle Inspection Report).

    · Report all repairs needed or other issues to the Transportation Manager.

    · Conduct detailed post-trip inspection of vehicle and trailer and complete and sign the DVIR.

    · Accurately complete and maintain daily mileage sheets and send to Transportation Manager each day.

    · Complete and maintain accurate Log Books in compliance with regulations.

    · Track work time on time cards, using the time clock when possible.

    · Maintain Company vehicles and trailers with routine service and maintenance.

    · Keep vehicles and equipment clean.

    · Attend monthly Safety meetings and follow safety policies and procedures.

    · Review and stay informed of the latest rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier, Louisiana Department of Transportation, and Louisiana State Police as well as any other federal, state, or local agency.

    · Maintain credit card and cash receipts for proper reporting of expenses incurred during travel time.

    · Attend and participate in departmental meetings and training as required.NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor when interacting with customers, clients, and other departments within the Company.

    Education and/or Experience:

    · High School Diploma or GED equivalent

    · Minimum 2 years experience operating a Semi or a vehicle with a GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of 26,000 pounds or more

    · Meet all Federally regulated requirements as follows:

    o Be a United States Citizen and 21 years of age

    o Have a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and provide a list of violations if applicable.

    o Have a valid DOT Medical Card

    o Pass a road test

    · Prompt and regular attendance

    · Travel as required with occasional overnight stays

    · Must meet and maintain Federal regulations to be a Motor Carrier

    · Must pass DOT drug and alcohol test

The employee will work primarily in an outdoor environment, but will occasionally work an indoor office type setting. The employee will frequently work near moving mechanical parts and regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (weather), extreme heat (weather), and frequently exposed to vibrations; and occasionally exposed to fumes.
