Director of Information Technology, Gym Management Services
Position summary:
Gym Management Services, Inc., the managing company supporting 17 Gold’ Gym locations in southern California is seeking a hands-on professional who enjoys rolling up his or her sleeves and working with the team to achieve goals, meet deadlines, eliminate security risks and increase customer satisfaction throughout our organization. The successful candidate will be a change management expert and highly knowledgeable about the hierarchical infrastructure of information systems for a multi-location service and retail organization. Key to the success of the person in this role is to gain a deep understanding of practical application and operational use of information systems in use throughout our organization. This includes an understanding of hosted solution and their integrations.
The Director of IT will provide leadership, vision, planning, development, implementation, and support of our technology related business projects. This leader is responsible for comprehensively understanding and leading all associated project management activities necessary to enable and support the various technology and business changes across the enterprise. As a leader in the organization, you will mentor and train those in the field in the use of technologies in use to help ensure their success and the experience of our members.
As a growing enterprise, our Director of Information Technology must understand and commit to a “whatever it takes” perspective during critical times such as opening of new locations, implementing new systems, or troubleshooting critical platforms that are failing or otherwise not performing.
With an office in the San Fernando Valley, travel is required to support our locations throughout Southern California. However, our goal is to enhance our remote support solutions to reduce such need for travel.

Job Duties:
Overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals
Directing the effective delivery of networks, development, and disaster recovery systems and processes
Working with I.T. partners to find solutions to manage business activities
Supervising the IT administrator, while working closely with management, external vendors and advisors
Preparing financial budgets and presenting proposals for capital projects to senior executives
Researching and recommending new products
Lead efforts to improve IT processes
Develop reliable metrics for hardware, software and storage while ensuring strategic capacity planning
Communicate clearly with executives, administrative and field staff
Oversee the operation of server systems
Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate them with strategic solutions that increase data safety
Direct and support implementation of software and hardware upgrades
Identify and recommend new technology solutions that we can implement in our organization
Manage project and operational budgets
Coordinate and interact with internal and external integrators to ensure business application requirements are achieved
Coordinate project activities with an emphasis on quality and meeting timelines.
Required Skills and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or related experience.
Minimum of eight (5) years of experience within information technology.
Excellent professional written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
Experience in strategic planning and execution.
Advanced in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficient in MS Project and/or Smartsheets
Working knowledge of enterprise level cloud storage solutions such as box.com.
Experience in deployment of Office 365.
Knowledge of IT trends and how they translate to company needs and positioning.
Experience managing ERP systems.
Strong knowledge and hands on experience with virtualization technologies such as server virtualization
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft server and workstation operating systems, registry settings, DNS/DHCP, TCP/IP networking, and firewalls
Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Active Directory including OU design and administration, GPOs, and site to site replication
Troubleshooting experience including root cause analysis, debugging utilities, etc.
Experience interacting with end users to provide technical support and gather feedback
Ability to present solutions that were designed and implemented to high level management
Proven track record of meeting deadlines along with associated deliverables
Strong verbal communication and documentation skills
Desire and ability to learn new technologies and the ability to multi-task to deliver services using various technologies to multiple companies
Ability to manage an IT budget and to communicate IT costs and investments to an array of stakeholders
