Accounts Payable ManagerThe Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for the direction and supervision of the accounts payable activities for the Company, including administering and ensuring adequate internal controls through accounts payable procedures, approvals and documentation requirements. Must have hands on experience with project implementation or project management.
Responsibilities:
Hands on Accounts Payable daily processing
Ensures that internal and external customers receive quality and timely accounting services
Ensures that Company’s assets are safeguarded by establishing and following the departments policies, procedures, and internal controls
Oversees the preparation, distribution, and timely filing of 1099s
Oversees vendor set-up and maintenance
Develops implements and maintains Accounts Payable systems, procedures and policies to ensure adherence to Company guidelines.
Establishes and communicates standard operating procedures to improve efficiency of the AP team and expedite workflow.
Maintains and conducts internal audits applicable to all facets of the AP
Analyzes and interprets specific Accounts Payable periodic and ad-hoc statistical information and reports.
Oversees and participates in month-end closing processes within AP.
Organize and maintain the AP filing system, including paper and electronic invoices, general accounting data and providing scanned invoices and related documents for all balance sheet accounts to general ledger accounting staff.
Complies with IRS and state 1099 & 1042 reporting requirements for payments made through the AP system, including ensuring we have proper withholding certificates on file before payments are released.
Complies with applicable Sales and Use Tax requirements.
Manages supplier relationships through prompt payment and reconciled account activity.
Provides problem and invoice resolution assistance to vendors and internal company personnel with tact and diplomacy.
