    Come join the Gold's Gym family as the General Manager of the brand new club in downtown Tampa, FL opening this fall! State of the art equipment, a sense of community and tons of fun are guaranteed!

    The following provides a detailed description for the position of General Manager. Actual duties performed may very slightly. Successful candidate must be able to travel to Santa Monica September 24-29, 2023 for the Gold's Gym Annual Leadership Conference. Travel expenses will be paid by Gold's Gym Tampa Gas Worx.

    Management Responsibilities:

    Be an ambassador of your gym by promoting and engaging in the gym social media, website and digital marketing.

    Respond to social media inquiries.

    Understanding of budgeting, inventory, payroll, labor management and facilities maintenance.

    Have business acumen that includes an understanding of the competitive landscape and community around the gym.

    Ensure compliance throughout the gym.

    Ensure gym audits, which are in place to ensure safety of the members and staff, are done within the expected timeframe.

    Stay aware of all job postings for the gym, ensure interviews are performed on a consistent basis to prevent any open positions in operations or on the fitness staff.

    Manage and maintain gym operational budget, P/L and cost accounting.

    Responsible for overseeing the sales process and systems.

    Manage, monitor, and evaluate the performance of all gym-related staff.

    Deliver exceptional team member experience.

    Hire, train and schedule all gym staff.

    Train and develop front desk team members and/or frontline team members regarding all operating procedures involving member acquisition and onboarding.

    Manage and evaluate the performance of all gym team members.

    Oversees team member payroll to ensure accuracy and submitted on time to payroll processing.

    Properly delegate, monitor and evaluate specifically assigned responsibilities of team members.

    Responsible for managing disciplinary actions involving all gym employees.

    Member Experience:

    Deliver exceptional gym member experience.

    Oversee member experience within the gym and lead by example.

    Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service to our members.

    Provide effective decision making regarding customer service issues to provide a positive member experience.

    Ensure our members receive the best fitness experience by walking the gym floor and assisting the members when needed.

    Manages member feedback of gym, responds to all online reviews in a timely manner.

    Ensure the gym is clean and organized at all times.

    Operational Duties:

    Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service in a high-volume environment through personal actions and development of the staff.

    Provide effective decision-making regarding customer service issues.

    Plan and promote the gym on a regular basis and during special events as scheduled, using marketing designated by corporate or local gym ownership.

    Responsible for ensuring that the facility is clean and operationally sound.

    Ensure facility is clean and operationally sound and assist in organizing weights, keeping equipment organized and inspecting equipment regularly to ensure all equipment is sound and operational. Notify maintenance staff or ownership immediately upon finding any equipment in need of repair.

    Effectively manages the operations of the gym, including managing inventory and assets.

    Responsible for pro shop and juice bar inventory, ordering, and assigning restoking duties to staff as necessary.

    Responsible for managing retail and juice bar sales and promotions.

    Responsible for scheduling and coordination of vendors in facility for deliveries, repairs, cleaning.

    Responsible for coordination with outside vendors for gym management software/IT, A/V, etc as needed.

    Job Qualifications:

    High School diploma with five years professional experience. College degree preferred.

    Fitness industry experience preferred but not required.

    Be promotionally-oriented and have the ability to direct sales through company required outreach programs.

    Strong customer service orientation with proven results.

    Understanding of performance metrics including P&L, revenue, budgeting, inventory, payroll, cost controls and facilities maintenance.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Positive, team oriented mindset with open, participative leadership style and drive for excellence.

    Strong work ethic, integrity, and professional demeanor.

    Associate or Bachelor's degree in business or related field with two years of management experience preferred.

    Current CPR/First Aid Certification.

    If performing PT sessions outside of manager scheduled hours is desired, a current PT certification will be required.
