    Award-winning established fine-dining restaurant and boutique inn in the Northern Virginia region seek an exceptionally talented, highly motivated, and creative culinarian with a passion for food and service at a 5-Star level. The ideal candidate will have a genuine appreciation for contemporary American cuisine, using the freshest ingredients, with 5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef in fine-dining establishments with a high-end check average.

    As the first point of contact, you will be part of high energy and enthusiastic team, providing our guests with exceptional service to exceed expectations.

    The Executive Chef will train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise and coordinate all related culinary activities, including special catering events, such as corporate meals and wedding functions.

    Minimum of 5 years of Executive Chef experience in fine dining

    Stable and consistent work history required

    Fine Dining experience required

    Financial Acumen: Purchasing, Inventory Control, P&L, and Food Costs experience required

    Expert understanding of modern and classical kitchen techniques

    A passion for the freshest of farm-to-fork ingredients

    The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to lead a team while working under pressure

    Wedding and corporate event experience required

    Demonstrate outstanding leadership, communication, and training ability

    Maintain a high standard of quality while optimizing company sales and efficiency

    Responsible for ensuring proper staff scheduling.

    Inspect the Kitchen for sanitation daily and perform weekly inspections and ensure all health standards are met and complied

    Ensure equipment is maintained properly

    Prepare a wide variety of food products from scratch

    Plan, coordinate, and supervise the work activity throughout the day

    Maintain inventory of foods and supplies for the area of assignment and maintains controls over these areas

    Spot problems and solve them quickly and efficiently

    Maximize the productivity of kitchen staff

    Maintain impeccable personal hygiene, as well as high work and safety standards

    Set an example for staff

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years of culinary education (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

    Minimum of 5 years culinary experience and three years senior-level culinary management experience

    Proven leadership track record with the ability to hire, train and motivate staff

    Proficient knowledge of human resources management

    Excellent communication skills

    Experience in purchasing and inventory control

    Experience in menu preparation, food costing, and quality control

    Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety procedures

    ServSafe certified preferred (EC must become certified within one year from acceptance of position)

    Supervisory Responsibility: This position manages all department employees and is responsible for employee performance management and hiring.

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional hospitality environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

    Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively interact with guests

    Must be able to accept constructive criticism from supervisors

    Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with last-minute room changes

    Must be able to work inside and out, in all weather conditions

    Must be able to maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition

    Job Type: Full-time: Must be able to work a varied schedule, including AM, Mid, and PM shifts, weekdays, weekends, holidays, and special events
