TEMPORARY EARLY HEAD START TEACHER  POSITION AVAILABLE AT THE GOODWILL EASTERSEALS CHILD DEVELOPMENT - GORDON SMITH LOCATION. THE EHS TEACHER WILL create and manage an attractive, warm and challenging environment for infants and toddlers, incorporating appropriate early intervention, learning and care activities which meet the needs of the group as well as those of individual children and families.

FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for providing a comprehensive program with the goal of facilitating a meaningful classroom experience, providing guidance and direction to meet the individual needs of students.

This is position is made possible by a federal grant administered by the Gulf Regional Childcare Management Agency The position’s establishment and continuance may be dependent upon on-going grant funding.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education with a minimum of six semester hours specifically related to infant and toddlers group care OR Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) with Infant/Toddler endorsement OR  Associate of Art (AA) degree in Early Childhood Education with a minimum of six semester hours or equivalent quarter hours specifically related to infants/toddlers care OR B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with a minimum of six semester hours specifically related to infants/toddlers OR  a degree in a related field with a minimum of six semester hours or equivalent quarter hours in early childhood education specifically related to infant/toddler care

• Minimum of two years working with infants and toddlers

• First Aid certification

• Infant/Child CPR certification

• Food Handler’s card

• TB test clearance

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must be able to work Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm with occasional Saturdays for training.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance and be insurable to drive agency vehicles.
