PART-TIME POSITION - 1:00PM UNTIL 5PM/6PM WHEN JANITORIAL DUTIES ARE COMPLETE. 20-24 HOURS PER WEEK

FUNCTION: To perform general janitorial services for government buildings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides World Class customer service by ensuring that offices and facilities are cleaned in a friendly and professional manner.

2. Thoroughly and efficiently cleans assigned areas and locations, Duties will include but are not limited to:

   1. Mopping, sweeping and vacuuming floors, reporting stains to supervisor for spot cleaning
   2. Cleaning glass and other surfaces and polishing furniture
   3. Collecting trash and disposing of it properly
   4. Dusting air vents and baseboards and wiping down doors and walls as necessary
   5. Cleaning the refrigerator, microwave, stove and other appliances
   6. Making sure bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and that paper products and soap are replenished

3. Completes jobs within a specified time frame and reports any problems or schedule variations to supervisor immediately.

4. Exercises care and good judgment in handling the property of customers and reports any damage, concerns or problems to supervisor.

5. Responsibly handles company supplies and equipment and makes sure that low inventory items are reported to supervisor.

6. Works cooperatively as a team with supervisor and co-workers, offering assistance to get tasks completed efficiently, in a timely manner.

7. Minimizes accidents by making sure that safety and accident reporting standards are followed and preventive measures are taken.

8. Maintains Goodwill's standards for image including wearing a clean, neat uniform and name badge.

9. Upholds the mission, vision and values of the agency and adheres to standards for conduct and professionalism.

10. Regular attendance is required as outlined in the GWI Services employee handbook.

11. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job).

1. Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
2. Must be able to explain the mission of Goodwill  to the general public.
3. Must possess good organizational and time management skills.
4. Must be able to take initiative, make decisions and work independently, with little supervision.
5. Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisor, co-workers and crew leader.
6. Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
7. Must present professional image of Goodwill  at ALL times during working hours.
8. Must be able to work scheduled work hours.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Some janitorial experience or training preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to engage in frequent bending, stooping, stretching and twisting.
• Must be able to use hands, wrists and fingers, while sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors and while dusting furniture and cleaning windows.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Adequately lighted business locations or offices. Exposure chemicals and dust.
