Responsible for technical and program leadership in space-based military technology. Selected candidate will foster growth of Radiance space-based technology portfolio with research, acquisition, and intelligence customers. The position encompasses advanced concept exploration. Candidates are expected to be leaders in space platform conceptual design, systems engineering, multidisciplinary modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A), technology demonstration and maturation programs, flight test, and operational assessments.

The position is entrepreneurial in nature and provides the candidate with substantial flexibility and freedom to shape/craft the space technology portfolio. An academic mindset and scientific rigor are required. Collaboration with industry organizations is expected as part of overall portfolio development and maturation. Partnership with university organizations, and more specifically firewalled US-only constituents of university organizations, is encouraged for foundational technology development.

The successful candidate will support the Department of Defense (DoD) in the development of analytical simulation capabilities and models to support multiple space-based MS&A efforts. He/she will manage—on both a technical and programmatic level—a small team of competent developers and analysts to accomplish task objectives. Typical projects involve leading design and integration of physics-based and logical models into DoD simulation frameworks, designing scenarios to test new concepts, and enabling and performing analysis of space-based systems and concepts.

The Modeling, Analytics, and Simulation Sciences Division is heavily focused on support to the Intelligence Community and DoD through specialized software development and M&S tools and infrastructure. We have a unique blend of analysis and modeling capabilities with an understanding of scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) missions that enable us to provide the Government with innovative solutions to complex software requirements. We are industry leaders in the Air Force’s AFSIM modeling and simulation environment and have been heavily involved in ITASE and TMAP for years. This opportunity will give the candidate exposure to a wide array of new technologies to include the latest in DoD MS&A and user interface design. Our dynamic software development teams work collaboratively and encourage creativity and innovation in software design, integration, and development. Most software is developed in an Agile environment with continuous integration and testing.
