    • Check production order Shop Packet for pattern set up description.
    • Evaluate and prepare vacuum metalizer to ensure optimum operating condition. 
    • Setup equipment with necessary raw materials to produce product.
    • Productively operate manufacturing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Stock supplies for the next shift. 
    • Check in and put away all raw materials. 
    • Maintain raw material and product stock areas within Company standards. 
    • Complete production report at end of shift consisting of:
    • Department ##- & Machine ##-
    • Name, date and man hours
    • Size of rolls and order number
    • Total amount of production and waste
    • Downtime and remarks
    • Perform scanning procedures on shop packets and products.
    • Suggests ideas to improve department productivity, processes and safety.
    • Perform any other necessary task for the smooth operation of the department.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • 1-2 years production machinery operator experience strongly desired – will train
    • Requires the ability to distinguish colors (color test required).
    • Strong math skills and the ability to effectively perform measurement conversions.
    • Mechanical aptitude a definite plus (mechanical aptitude testing required).
    • Legible handwriting.
    • Average weight lifted with assistance is 80-90 lbs.
    • Receptiveness to training for computer data entry and retrieval; prior proficiency and experience in this area a plus.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Qualifications

     

    • 1-3 years of related experience.
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Must be able to work above average overtime and flexible hours.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
    • Aptitude with SAP/WMS System as well as ISO-9001 requirements.
    • Appropriate forklift and comparable equipment operating skills.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly for extended periods.

     

    ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION GIVEN TO THOSE WITH:

    •  Previous shipping/traffic and material handling experience.
    • Paint/Coatings/chemical industry knowledge or experience.
