    Job Description

    We are currently searching for a VP OF SALES for a well-established, growing company. The company is a group-level platform that is executing a “roll-up” in the precision metals industry. The company currently has four operating divisions and more will be added each year. The ideal candidate for the VP OF SALES will be to gather new accounts and business in the aerospace and defense market while promoting company products and services across all divisions. The VP OF SALES will be an employee of the group-level platform company and will be a key member of the management team. The VP OF SALES will report to the CEO.

    VP OF SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Promote company capabilities to manufacture custom precision components and subassemblies products and services in all relevant markets (aerospace, defense, space, power generation, medical, industrial automation, fluids separation/purification, and others). This activity will include both new and existing customers, but with particular emphasis on new business opportunities in the aerospace, defense, and space custom machining markets

    • Develop plans and strategies to bring in new clients

    • Manage detailed sales expectations and plan accordingly

    • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction

    • Monitor market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions

    • Develop sales plans and assist with the integration of new divisions as they are added

    VP OF SALES REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (strongly preferred, but other relevant undergraduate degrees may be considered)

    • 5 -10 years of sales and sales management experience in aerospace, defense, and space

    • Demonstrated success selling custom machined components to the aerospace, defense, and space customers

    • Successful experience building a go-to-market strategy and corporate sales plan

    • Experience managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities

    • Some travel required – most customers are much more accepting of “virtual” sales calls than ever before due to the current pandemic. And in fact, some accounts currently forbid face-to-face interaction. However, given the geographic market for this position in the entire US, overnight travel will certainly be required. In addition, there will be occasional trips to our facilities in the Charlotte area if the successful candidate is not located there. In total, perhaps 20- 40% of a successful candidate’s time will be spent away from the office (if located around Charlotte) or home office.

    VP OF SALES COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

    • Base salary of $100K - $125K Base + Bonus (Expected 1st-year compensation ~$150K). The client has indicated willingness to flex total compensation to $200k or more for an exceptional candidate and possibly alter the title to Chief Commercial Officer.
