Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast; with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
GMC has an opening for a Site Civil Engineering Leader that will use extensive industry knowledge and heightened strategic planning abilities to assist in making decisions that can promote company growth and support on-going projects in the Nashville, TN office. This position will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the firm’s values and standards for project solicitation and client management.
Essential functions and responsibilities include:
- Expresses a keen understanding of the industry standards and the expectations of the client
- Demonstrates the leadership required for effective team contributions to the firm’s success including contributions to client relationships and opportunity generation.
- Understands overall project process and has a general knowledge of site development engineering and construction practices
- Is technically responsible as related to overall planning and project development
- Comprehends complexity of projects and recognizes feasible scope and schedule, cost to complete scope (required manhours) and a schedule to deliver that scope, including relevant local permitting timeframes.
- Manage client satisfaction for assigned clients or projects
- Leads campaign for engaging and retaining future clients
- Leads the development of projects from opportunity analysis and building marketing proposals through maintaining client satisfaction for future opportunities
- Applies knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve relationship-based conflicts and / or challenges
- Represent the firm in all aspects of projects and assignments to prospective employees, clients, and the communities we serve
- Reinforce GMC standards and Core Values to others
- Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key officials or other organizations, and is skilled in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
- Spends time outside of the office generating opportunities and developing relationships
- Engages with Project Managers to get appropriate personnel engaged in opportunities
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience ideally in Nashville
- Professional Engineering license
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
