Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately-held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.

GMC has an opening for HELP DESK TECHNICIAN to support on-going projects in MONTGOMERY, AL office. This position will provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems. You will answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Configures and maintains user desktops, laptops, and iPhone devices and keep them updated with new software and security patches
• Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
• Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
• Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
• Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
• Provide accurate information on IT products or services
• Record events and problems and their resolution in Kaseya
• Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ Years of relevant experience
• Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
• Experience with active directory
• Experience mapping network drives and printers
• Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
• Excellent communication skills
• Good troubleshooting skills over the phone or e-mail
• Ability to learn custom software packages as needed
• Ability to work independent and self-managed

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Occasional Travel to offices within region
