    Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately-held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.

    GMC Auburn, AL has an opening for an Architect and/or an Architecture Associate (Sports) to become part of a talented team of design professionals working on a variety of projects in the public and private sector markets. This is an opportunity to build a career path with a group of talented and creative professionals dedicated to a design practice that works to deliver excellence in design, technological advancement, and client service.

    Responsibilities:

    • Execute and enhance the design and technical intent of athletic facilities and entertainment venues .
    • Project experience and expertise in athletic facilities and entertainment venues is preferred. Passion and a team mentality is critical.
    • Participate in the design and technical documentation of Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Specifications, and Construction Administration for projects of various sizes.
    • Work with Team Leadership in creating facilities which serve the client’s needs, are code-compliant, and respond to their desired image and branding, space, aesthetic, and budgetary goals.
    • Coordinate with the engineering disciplines and other specialty consultants to ensure a consistent and coordinated development of the project.
    • Participate in design presentations to the client and other constituents.
    • Supervise and direct small teams of professional and technical support personnel in project development.
    • Assist market segment leaders and the marketing department in the preparation of design documents and presentation materials.

    Requirements

    • 5 to 8 years of relevant architecture experience on various project sizes
    • Experience in the production, coordination and project management of construction documents.
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and efficiently manage time across projects
    • Demonstrated experience in leading a multidiscipline design team
    • Experienced with Revit, BIM and Cloud based model sharing.
    • Experience with various rendering software is preferred but not required
    • Knowledgeable in building codes, life safety analysis and ADA regulations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Architecture license is preferred
    • Professional or Master's degree in architecture
