Job Summary
As a Team Lead, you have the opportunity to lead, inspire and develop a small team of associates! Your main focus will be motivating, inspiring and training your team. The core of the job is engaging with your team during a shift to ensure that the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance performance and engagement are maintained. To achieve this, the Team Lead will ensure that their team of associates have all the tools needed to succeed for any task during a shift.
Responsibilities
Assist the leadership team with day-to-day leadership tasks.
Training all newly hired associates as well as providing ongoing training and development to current associates.
Follow up on assigned duties to specific employees.
Monitor attendance and tardiness of the associates in the assigned area.
Lead the execution of shift breakouts and schedules for all associates in the assigned area.
Act as a key carrier and floor leader to open and close the building as well as run shifts as needed/assigned by leadership.
Assist with managing Inbound and Outbound deliveries and pickups and manage external visitors.
Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
Ensure procedures are followed for building security and product loss prevention.
Partner with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards.
Enters Dangerous Goods / Prohibited Goods into the ‘Pending Internal Liquidation Approval’ document
Enters Dangerous Goods / Prohibited Goods into the ‘eBay Approval’ document
Liquidates Dangerous Goods / Prohibited Goods after being added to the ‘eBay Approval’ document
Enters ‘Pending Reset’ packages into the ‘ORD Problem’ document
Process Forward any resolved packages that have been cleared in the ‘ORD Problem’ document
Separate packages from the ‘Exception’ bins into ‘EVTN Search’ bins and ‘Inspection Multi-pack’ bins
Assist with any Problem Packages and understand how to process them (forms, Supership, carrier returns, etc.)
Gather packages from each station that require further attention (Problem Bins, Multi-Packs, 120, etc.)
Move merchandise in and out of delivery trucks using appropriate tools.
Examine and carefully handle fragile merchandise as well as potentially dangerous or prohibited goods
Inspect, examine and ensure all units shipped are properly classified.
Examine products using technology tools (ie- laptop, X-ray, software, scales, measuring tools, etc).
Track and document exact shipment arrival and departure times.
Tag and label merchandise properly per company directive.
Label and pack merchandise according to size, shape, and type.
Box, wrap and pack merchandise in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.
Prepare all orders for shipment according to the carrier.
Record and manage all impaired, rejected or damaged merchandise items.
Operate adequate merchandise management tools (ie- pallet jack, pallet stacker, forklift) (DOQ).
Maintains work areas and warehouse equipment in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe manner.
Ensure all proper safety procedures are executed and followed.
Ability to lift, move and transport weight up to 50 pounds.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Assists the Operations Manager and Floor Supervisor in the daily leadership of the warehouse floor
Focuses on enhancing the quality of the floor operations production
Focuses on optimizing and pacing the rate and productivity of material handlers
Teaches, trains and coaches the team on rates and quality standards
Acts as the “Leader on Duty” to run the operations of the
Problem-solves issues on the warehouse floor including equipment issues, machine jams, technology issues and other obstacles that arise
Assists with administrative duties such as attendance, scheduling, shift management and other tasks assigned by the Operations Manager
Leads shifts that are scheduled based on business needs including overtime shifts, weekends and holidays and overnight/afternoon shifts that are called
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED is preferred
Previous experience working in a warehouse setting is preferred
Ability to use warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, and hand trucks
Capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects
Ability to work with limited supervision
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Good communication skills
Attention to details
Familiarity with operation of basic hand tools
