We are a startup mushroom cultivation operation situated on a tranquil ranch in Fallbrook. Our facility encompasses a lab, grow room, and fruiting room, all within an 800 sq ft standalone building. We are committed to producing high-quality mushrooms and are seeking an experienced cultivator to join our team.
Role Overview
As a Mushroom Cultivator, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of mushroom production, from substrate preparation to harvesting. Your expertise will ensure optimal growth conditions and contribute to the success of our operation.goodfoodjobs.com+1UN Jobs & NGO Opportunities+1
Key Responsibilities
Substrate Preparation: Sterilize and inoculate substrates in the lab.
Environmental Monitoring: Maintain optimal humidity, temperature, and CO₂ levels in grow and fruiting rooms.
Cultivation Management: Oversee mycelium colonization and fruiting processes.
Harvesting: Identify and harvest mushrooms at peak maturity.
Sanitation: Ensure cleanliness of the facility and equipment to prevent contamination.
Record-Keeping: Document growth cycles, yields, and any anomalies.
Quality Control: Inspect mushrooms for quality and prepare them for distribution.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in mushroom cultivation or a related field.
Knowledge: Familiarity with mushroom growth cycles and environmental control systems.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in humid conditions.
Transportation: Reliable means to commute to the ranch.
