  • Responsibilities

    We are currently seeking a Network Management IT Specialist Level III with a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience and a current, active Top Secret clearance.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for design, installation, configuration, administration, operation, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation of classified and unclassified MDDC Program networks and associated equipment, devices, and software IAW applicable MDA and DoD guidance, instructions, procedures and processes.
    • Maintains a complex range of computer network components and systems.
    • Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance and trace data and protocol activity.
    • Devises solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Develops and executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.
    • Interfaces with vendors for design, upgrades and maintenance of infrastructure equipment.
    • Has experience with Quantum, Dell, Fujitsu, HP (storage arrays), EMC and Cisco networking equipment.
    • Has full technical knowledge of all phases of systems operations
    • Must closely follow MDA and DoD specific network protocols and methodology.
    • Assists with Government Furnished Equipment/Government Furnished Property (GFE/GFP) contract hardware/software maintenance, repairs and processes.
    • Responsible for maintaining inventory and organization of different types of software and hardware resources.
    • Provide new installation and end-of-life refresh of the Test and Data Analysis Network (TDAN) user systems and servers
    • Perform user account creation and password resets
    • Responsible for the inventory and storage of incoming classified system back-ups tapes for specified periods of time
    • Ship classified back up tape media as required to include: transmittal documentation, wrapping, shipping
    • Work with test event coordinators to determine hardware and software requirements needed for successful Mission Events
    • Relocation of telephony and Flight Test Hardware per approved configuration changes from Mission Test Lead.
    • Complete Security patching on multiple network environment workstations and Servers
    • Manage trouble ticket queues; perform trend and root-cause analysis to resolve groups of trouble tickets; document efforts in the trouble ticket system.
    • Conduct and direct installation of personal computers successfully according to information systems protocol and standards for device image
    • Maintain physical inventory of stock items and reorder as required

    ****Requirements:

    • DoDI 8570.01m Certification Required
    • BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science (will consider other technical disciplines) and six plus (6+) years of related experience preferred.
    • Service provider level knowledge of Architecture Concepts and Troubleshooting to include MPLS, BGPv4, L2/L3 VPNs, QoS, OSPF, GRE Tunnels, IPV6, and multicast.
    • Take an active role in the Incident Response and Problem Management processes, representing the desktop environment. Provide root cause analysis for problems and measures to mitigate future occurrences
    • Must be able to work with minimal oversight and possess abilities to communicate effectively through all levels within the organization working closely with project leads and other team members
    • Proficient in Windows Operating Systems 2010 and Windows Server 2008 R2/2012R2/2016/2019
    • Fundamental knowledge in networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP)
    • Experience in developing and assessing IT planning documents that address enterprise-wide issues and strategies.
    • Ability to conduct infrastructure strategic and tactical analysis of network migration initiatives (i.e. network optimization, technology refresh, network system integration, etc.) to identify transition execution and operational impacts.
    • Experience in network Life Cycle Management processes and documentation desired.
    • Responsible for the evaluation, installation and support of local area networks and/or wide area networks
    • Excellent communication skills; show tact, effective listening skills and follow through.
    • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments.
    • Must have a current, active Top Secret clearance.
