Government Sales & Contracts Lead

Position Overview:
A well-established consumer electronics company is seeking a Government Sales & Contracts Lead to drive growth in the federal, state, and local government sectors. This role involves identifying bid opportunities, submitting competitive proposals, managing public sector contracts, and collaborating cross-functionally to fulfill awarded deals.
This is an individual contributor role with high visibility and ownership — ideal for a motivated professional with a blend of sales savvy and government contracting expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and qualify federal, state, and municipal bid opportunities
Prepare and submit compliant, accurate, and timely RFP/RFQ responses
Work with internal teams and external vendors to ensure competitive pricing and fulfillment capabilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with government procurement officers and public agency contacts
Track and manage the full lifecycle of contracts, including renewals, reporting, and performance tracking
Serve as the key liaison between sales, legal, procurement, and operations to execute awarded deals
Attend trade shows and in-person meetings to establish and grow government relationships
Support the VP of Sales on current opportunities and help scale outbound efforts into three strategic verticals:
POS devices & hardware partners
Agencies, festivals, and events
Large enterprise clients (e.g., JPMorgan Chase-style accounts)
Requirements:
3–5+ years of experience in government sales, RFP management, or public sector contracting
Proven ability to identify and close deals through structured government procurement processes
Familiarity with SAM.gov, GSA schedules, and state procurement portals
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to present effectively and win over stakeholders in high-stakes conversations
High attention to detail, comfort with deadlines, and an organized approach to managing multiple bids
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with consumer electronics, tech products, or hardware sales
Exposure to trade shows and in-person industry networking
Background in enterprise or channel sales
