  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for an experienced legal assistant who can help with assisting clients at our busy law firm. You’ll be responsible for client correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, setting appointments, staying aware of upcoming deadlines, and reviewing sensitive documents. You’ll also assist with and perform any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently. You will work independently but also as part of a team with effective communication. Responsibilities: • Making outgoing calls to clients to discuss documents & status updates • Responding to client inquiries via phone, email & text • Meeting with clients in person to review documents & case status • Scanning, filing & reviewing documents brought in-office or emailed • Entering detailed information into the database received via calls, email, text, or in-person meetings • Using documents to create legal forms for filing with the court • Clearly communicating within the department as well as with all other staff to keep the firm operating smoothly and clients moving seamlessly through the system • Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly Qualifications: • Must be able to work in Towson, MD • Detail oriented • Well organized • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) • Outgoing and well-spoken • Friendly, professional, positive attitude • Willingness/interest in learning new things • Has a strong work ethic • Independent worker (doesn’t need a lot of oversight) • Initiative to seek out work and find ways to help us improve the business • Reliable and trustworthy • Prior legal experience is not required. And we don’t care whether you have a college degree. If you met the above qualifications and are eager to learn, we’ll teach you Compensation: $16 - $18 hourly
