Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Fuel Accounting Specialist is responsible for various fuel accounting functions including matching of fuel bill of ladings to the fuel deliveries. The position is also responsible for the matching of the vendor fuel invoices to the confirmed bill of lading and resolving any price discrepancies.
REPORTS TO: Controller
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process fuel deliveries, credit cards, and GL accounting tasks on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with accuracy.
Matching of fuel deliveries posted by the stores to bill of ladings received from the fuel terminals and resolution of any discrepancies.
Matching of confirmed bill of ladings to vendor fuel invoices and resolution of any discrepancies.
Preparation of any monthly government fuel usage reports.
Obtain and manually enter missing bill of lading and fuel invoices into PDI-Enterprise.
Review fuel inventory for all locations and make corrections as needed.
Prepare and review various accounting and tax related reports for accuracy and auditing purposes.
Identify issues with fuel deliveries, credit cards, and paperwork auditing and resolve discrepancies.
Perform reconciliations and assist with customer chargebacks.
Perform other bookkeeping and office functions or other duties that are assigned by management.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree or equivalent, highly preferred
Excellent computer skills, effective communication skills.
Experience with PDI-Enterprise system strongly preferred.
Proven experience in an accounting department role, experience with Excel and Word.
High degree of accuracy, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
Should be able to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
Uphold company standards in personal appearance, work ethic, and customer service.
Have a can- do and positive attitude in everything you do while working as per GEI principles and guidelines.
