    Position Summary:

    The Journeyman Electrician is required to work closely with project management, maintenance, throughout all Grand Canyon West locations. Travel to other GCRC operations may be required, depending on the project. The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for executing professional, quality installations per all current electrical codes. Able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining safety standards

    Knowledge and Abilities:

    Must be able to program and have experience in reading and interpreting blueprints

    Significant exposure to pulling electrical wiring through electrical conduit and terminating electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices along with installing and connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, or other components and systems

    Must have experience with installing, bending, and removing conduit and installing and replacing lighting fixtures/systems, and with electrical panels transformers, switches, motors, etc.

    Fully comprehends electrical theory and National Electrical Code.

    Must have experience working with generator systems

    Ability to drive over two hours in a single day or as required.

    Ability to reach, bend, push/pull, and frequently lift 35-40lbs.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Responsible for understanding motors and controls and how they apply to generator systems.

    Required to troubleshoot electrical devices with drawings and schematics.

    Responsible for understanding and having knowledge of voltage, amperage, insulation resistance, continuity, and electrical testers.

    Comprehends and adheres to company policy safe work practices.

    Responsible for ensuring all safety procedures are followed including all OSHA regulations.

    Responsible for time management for each job on a daily and weekly basis.

    Responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager with a budget for materials and required tools.

    Responsible for continual training for any interested staff wishing to learn the trade

    Other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

    Qualifications:

    Active Arizona Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience with management approval.

    Minimum of 4 years documented field work or completion of 4 year electrical apprenticeship program preferred.

    Excellent understanding of the electrical industry.

    Experience finding and repairing faults in electrical systems.

    Ability to build and install control panels and provide maintenance to systems

    Preference given to Hualapai Tribal Members

    Must be eligible for Tribal Insurance

    Working Conditions:

    Position requires ability to work indoors as well as in outdoor environment for long periods of time, regardless of weather conditions. Must be able to routinely walk, stand, bend and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. as part of duties. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays.
