    Position Summary:

    Supervises a team of Food Handlers/Cooks who are responsible for production of food products in a safe and healthy manner, using proper food handling and sanitation procedures. May be assigned to a number of locations at Grand Canyon West. Ensures that the team is providing outstanding and prompt customer service at all times and is providing information in a courteous, friendly and personable manner. Responsible for coordinating daily work schedules of team.

    Knowledge and Abilities:

    Demonstrated ability to communicate well and interact with guests and staff in a clear concise manner providing prompt, outstanding customer service.

    Ability to lead, coach, train and develop Food Handlers – Cooks in all aspects of their jobs. Foster a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.

    Demonstrated ability to handle all aspects of food handling, preparation and monitoring, using sound health and sanitation practices.

    Demonstrated ability to handle inventory, ordering, stock levels and vendor management for Food & Beverage.

    Demonstrated ability to handle cash and follow all proper cash handling policies and procedures.

    Demonstrated ability to handle difficult guest relation situations.

    Ability to work with appropriate, related computer software.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Direct supervision of Food Handlers/Cooks. Coordinate daily work schedules of Food Handlers/Cooks to ensure all GCW locations are covered.

    Ensure sound health and sanitation policies and procedures are followed at all times. Monitor food temperature checks and completion of logs reporting time and temperatures.

    Ensure high food quality standards and that customers are receiving prompt and courteous service.

    Manage difficult guest relations situations.

    Perform regular and timely Performance Evaluation discussions and documentation with members of team and promote team environment while providing individual growth opportunities for Direct Reports.

    Lead, coach, train, develop and motivate team members in all aspects of their jobs.

    Responsible for Food & Beverage inventory, stock levels, ordering and vendor management.

    Ensure all communications are shared with employees in a timely and accurate manner, as appropriate.

    Foster a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.

    Keep the Manager apprised of all issues and fill in for Manager in their absence.

    Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Good oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

    Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.

    High School Diploma or GED.

    Prior experience in the cooking and serving industry, restaurant or fast food industry preferred. Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.

    Current Food Handlers’ card.

    Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.

    Working Conditions:

    Kitchen environment with exposure to heat. Must be able to work extended periods while standing. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays. Willingness to work in remote location.
