    Position Summary:

    The Diamond Creek Restaurant Operations Manager will be responsible for the oversight of daily business operations and profitability at Diamond Creek Restaurant. This position will oversee the restaurant staff and ensure they are providing the highest quality guest service to our guests, Team Members, vendors, and the Tribe. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training, retaining, and developing restaurant team members. The position will also be responsible for the oversight and execution of standard restaurant management functions, such as inventory, quality control, customer loyalty, and adherence to all health codes and related standards.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Ensure compliance with the applicable Tribal, Federal, State, local and other laws, and Grand Canyon Resort Corporation policies and procedures.

    2. Ensure delivery of the highest possible standards of guest service for the entire restaurant, both front and back of house. Assist the executive team in the strategy and implementation of guest service standards.

    3. Assist in the annual department budget and analysis of staffing needs. Ensure budget compliance throughout the year.

    4. Recruit, train, manage, retain, and develop restaurant staff to ensure guest service standards are met, and to develop an environment in which team members develop the skills needed to be promoted from within.

    5. Continuously strive for perfection in creating and maintaining a positive culture in which team members are able to thrive and provide the best possible guest service.

    6. Seek opportunities to streamline processes and procedures, and find ways to create efficiencies within the venue.

    7. Administer the Drug Testing program as per the most current policies and procedures, when necessary.

    8. Remain up to date and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Address and adjust any and all departmental policies when deemed necessary.

    9. Maintain and promote an environment that motivates restaurant Team Members to collaborate, learn, develop, and perform at their best.

    10. Provide continuous coaching and development to Team Members. Mentor and motivate direct reports to effectively and efficiently manage their current responsibilities, and to support and encourage professional career development, growth, and achievement of goals.

    11. Ensure that staffing is scheduled appropriately and adjusted as needed. Minimize and/or eliminate the usage of overtime.

    12. Promote, develop, and maintain effective communication, interaction, and excellent relationships with all department leaders, which includes ensuring that the needs of outside departments and department leadership are identified and met efficiently and consistently.

    13. Perform all functions with the highest level of integrity.

    14. Observe and follow all safety procedures.

    15. Manage and maintain security of confidential information entrusted to position.

    16. Keep the General Manager apprised of any and all ongoing issues and concerns, at all times.

    17. Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Abilities:

    1. Excellent knowledge of restaurant principles, practices, and regulations.

    2. Thorough understanding of budgeting principles and practices.

    3. Ability to execute essential functions based upon organizational goals with strategic vision.

    4. Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.

    5. Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues, seek and present solutions, and maintain strict confidentiality of information.

    6. Ability to prioritize and monitor multiple tasks, and delegate assignments and responsibilities.

    7. Knowledge and proven track record of successful leadership and management techniques.

    9. Must be technology and process-efficiency driven.

    10. Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual contributor, and complete work within the designated timeframes.

    11. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or another related field, required.

    2. Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant leadership experience at a high-volume, full service restaurant, required.

    3. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, minimum seven (7) years management experience at a high volume full service restaurant is required.

    4. Demonstrated ability to build, develop, motivate and inspire a restaurant staff.

    5. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both as an individual and as part of a team.

    6. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

    7. Experience working for a Tribal entity, preferred.

    8. Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.

    Physical Demands:

    1. While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, bend for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen on a regular basis.

    2. The Team Member must be able to concentrate for prolonged periods.

    3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

    4. The Team Member must be able to communicate effectively in person or using telecommunications equipment.

    5. Must have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, touch-screen display, telephone, and calculator.

    6. Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.

    Conditions of Employment:

    1. Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States.

    2. Must be at least 18 years of age.

    3. Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record, and be able to obtain approval to operate a company vehicle.

    4. Must comply with the GCRC Team Member Handbook, internal policies and procedures, and all rules and regulations set within GCRC and the Tribe.

    Working Conditions:

    Work environment will be an indoor restaurant and office setting, with occasional assignments in outdoor environments in multiple business locations. This will involve exposure to extreme weather conditions including, but not limited to: heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow. Occasional travel (local and statewide) for meetings, assignments, and regular job tasks. Extended and irregular hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be needed on occasion to meet business needs. Must be able to perform under pressure and work under stressful conditions. May be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with irate Team Members, both current and former.
