    Position Summary:

    As the first point of contact, hosts must be warm, hospitable and professional. The host welcomes and greets new guests, manages the reservation system, provides wait time information when applicable, escorts guests to tables and answers any questions regarding the menu or restaurant. The hosts answer phones and handle reservation inquires with proper etiquette.

    Knowledge and Abilities:

    General restaurant operations and flow of reservations.

    Properly groom and present yourself in a clean hygienic manner.

    Ability to provide great customer service and adapt to a constantly changing environment.

    Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve customer issues in a hospitable manner.

    Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.

    Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time and walk throughout your shift.

    Knowledge of Hualapai tourism offerings, Hualapai history and culture.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Greet and welcome guests to the restaurant. Thank guests as they leave.

    Answer questions regarding reservations or wait time. Keep guests informed as they wait for their table.

    Demonstrate general restaurant layout and menu knowledge.

    Maintain cleanliness of host station and menus.

    Escort guests to tables and answer any questions regarding the restaurant, menu or the Hualapai tourism offerings, Hualapai history and culture.

    Inquire if guests have any time restraints and communicate to food servers and manager.

    Be knowledgeable about all menu items.

    Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant before, during and after service.

    Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    At least 1 year of previous restaurant or customer service experience. High volume/upscale restaurant experience preferred.

    Knowledge of restaurant reservation systems preferred but not required.

    Knowledge of general computer systems or applications.

    Current Food Handlers Card.

    Excellent customer service and oral communication skills.

    Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

    Positive attitude, willingness to learn and receptive to constructive feedback.

    Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.

    Working Conditions:

    High volume, fast-paced, team-oriented restaurant environment. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays.
