    Position Summary:

    Supervises a team of Security Guards or Security Surveillance Guards in order to insure the security of facilities, resources, employees and guests at Grand Canyon West. Responsible for the monitoring of guest movements throughout location.

    Knowledge and Abilities:

    Prior experience as a security or security surveillance guard.

    Ability to lead, coach and develop a team responsible for Security and Surveillance at Grand Canyon West facilities.

    Ability to assess security situations or issues and take appropriate action. Handle all escalations of issues.

    Ability to patrol grounds on foot and by vehicle and observe employee and guest interactions.

    Ability to work in outdoor environment for long periods of time.

    Ability to foster a team environment.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Direct supervision of Security Guards or Security Surveillance guards engaged in the safety and protection of company property, employees and guests.

    Patrol the grounds of Grand Canyon West and respond to emergency or escalated issues at remote area locations.

    Monitor guest and employee activity and assist in escorting off the premises any person under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.

    Answer visitor/tourists questions, gives directions, share information about GCW, the Hualapai history and culture, etc.

    Actively communicate and coordinate with local police authorities regarding possible observations of theft or other illegal activity on premises.

    Perform regular and timely Performance Evaluation discussions and documentation with members of team and promote team environment while providing individual growth opportunity for Direct Reports.

    Ensure that all communications are shared with employees in a timely and accurate manner, as appropriate.

    Keep the Security Manager apprised of all situations and provide timely updates on activity.

    Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Good oral and written communication skills.

    Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.

    Clean criminal background.

    Minimum of 21 years of age.

    High School Diploma or GED.

    Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.

    Experience as a Security or Security Surveillance Guard.

    Working Conditions:

    Position requires ability to work indoors as well as in outdoor environment for long periods of time, regardless of weather conditions. Must also have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as part of duties. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays.
