    O&P Compliance Specialist

    RANGE:  $75,000 - $100,000 SALARY - NEGOTIABLE, BASED ON EXPERIENCE.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    In coordination with relevant subject matter experts (SMEs), the O&P Specialist creates and maintains GRDA processes, procedures, and plans to reflect and/or modify actual work practices so that they are in accordance with current NERC O&P (operation and planning) standards and within NERC mandated timelines. The operation and planning specialist will assist the relevant SME(s) develop plans for internal controls to ensure activities are completed as required and in a reproducible manner, determine effective evidence, and track timelines.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Ensure compliance with NERC O&P standards.
    • Coordinate with relevant Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create, and maintain GRDA processes, procedures, and plans.
    • Stay current with changes in O&P standards and inform GRDA Compliance Manager and staff of changes and their effect on current policies, procedures, and work practices.
    • Develop internal controls to ensure activities are completed as required and in a reproducible manner.
    • Recognize, identify, and define effective evidence.
    • Track required operation and planning timelines.
    • Update evidence, processes, and plans prior to the required implementation date.
    • Work with the Compliance Manager and mid- to upper-level management as necessary to ensure SMEs are completing their required activities.

     

    EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • BS or BA degree in a relevant course of study is preferred; additional coursework or practical experience in auditing, systems analysis, and/or compliance programs preferred.
    • Experience with NERC O&P compliance preferred.
    • Engineering, relay, systems operation, and generation technician experience is applicable.

     

    SPECIAL CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS, LICENSES REQUIRED:

    • Must have a valid Oklahoma driver's license or obtain within 3 months.

     

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Competency with personal computers including proficiency with Excel and Word.
    • Must be capable of methodical, detailed analysis of complex problems.
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form in a formal or informal presentation setting to an audience or an individual.
    • Knowledge of NERC Compliance standards as they pertain to electric utility operations and activities is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of electric utility activities and operations and how they are affected and monitored by NERC standards is preferred.

     

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Will be required to sit for extended periods of time.
    • Must ensure assigned tasks are performed efficiently and safely.

     

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & SAFETY CONCERNS:

    • Work locations are primarily in office environment with occasional outdoor excursions for verification of assets, gathering physical data, and viewing work activities.

     

    JOB LOCATION:

    • Position is in Locust Grove, Oklahoma for the first year – with a potential to work from Locust Grove, Chouteau, or Tulsa offices upon experience in the role.
    • Minimal day travel required, with overnight travel limited to attending training and conferences.
