    • $47.35/Hourly (DOE) Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Location Ephrata Service Center Description Position Summary An employee in this position will work under the direction of a supervisor, a supervising foreman, or foreman as assigned. Progression through the career ladder is required; if an incumbent is unable to progress in a timely manner, corrective action will be taken. This position may be required to pass a CIP security background check. Job Description Must possess a basic knowledge of electronics theory and a thorough working knowledge of the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of the Districts telecommunication and data transport systems/equipment to include, but not limited to: digital and analog microwave systems, alarm and monitoring systems, channel banks (up to DS3), frequency generation equipment, local order wire equipment, UPS systems, Telco voltage (-48VDC) power distribution systems and batteries, data networks, hubs, switches, routers, basic firewalls, data cabling standards, mobile trunked radio systems, fiber optic systems (both transport and distribution), fiber optic troubleshooting and restoration services, SCADA systems, power line carrier equipment, telemetry equipment, instrumentation equipment, modems, routers and bridges, computers, telephone systems, security cameras, video surveillance systems, PA systems, paging systems, telephone termination equipment, GPS clock and timing source equipment, and communication associated with river load control and relay transfer trip schemes. May perform work functions individually, with assistance of other technicians or with the assistance of other crafts. Be qualified to safely and competently operate equipment associated with Electronics Department functions. Assist in the training of apprentices as required. May be upgraded to foreman or assigned to other areas when required and, if qualified, as determined by supervision. Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & procedures. Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to: Following all safety policies and procedures; Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions; Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor; and Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance. Position Requirements Educational Requirements High school diploma or GED from accredited institution. Minimum Job Requirements Electronics Technician card/journeyman status recognized by the District and Union. Two year technical degree or two year junior college degree and two years experience as an Electronic Technician. Valid first aid card including CPR training, equivalent to the State of Washington requirements for industrial first aid. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics (KSAOs) Shall keep assigned tools and equipment clean and orderly with securing repairs and maintenance as required. Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work with and assist others. Ability to learn via OJT, online, as well as in a classroom. Work is performed in a professional, efficient, and workmanlike manner; All work is accomplished in accord with District drawings, specifications, and construction standards; safety rules and regulations of the District and State of Washington are observed. District policies and procedures for employees are observed. Ability to read and interpret instruction books, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and engineering sketches; be able to perform red-lines of documentation. Must present a positive and professional image. Ability to interact with the public. Knowledge and understanding of Washington State Electrical Workers Safety Rules and Regulations. Write legibly and be able to maintain records, files, and fill out forms. Physical/Mental Requirements Must be mentally and physically fit for duty. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Willing to work off ladders, scaffolding, and antenna towers. Ability to work in confined areas.
