Job Title: Grants Coordinator
Organization: ConnectiKids, Inc.
Location: Hartford, CT
Employment Type: Part-time (30 hours/week)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM (with occasional evening events)
Compensation: $22/hour
Time Off: Two weeks in August and two weeks in December through early January (a total of 45 working weeks annually)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grants Coordinator to join our team. This individual will play a key role in sustaining and expanding our grant portfolio. Responsibilities include managing current grants, identifying new funding opportunities, leading the grant writing process, maintaining records and reports, and supporting development and financial reporting tasks. This position will collaborate closely with the Development Coordinator, Executive Director, and Program Team to ensure grant alignment with programmatic goals and organizational needs.
This position is ideal for a strategic thinker, a skilled communicator, and someone passionate about education equity and youth development.
Key Responsibilities:
Write and submit grant proposals and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Identify new funding opportunities from government, corporate, and foundation sources.
Maintain a detailed grant calendar, CRM records, and grant documentation files.
Coordinate with program and finance teams to gather data and insights for applications and reports.
Track grant deadlines, deliverables, and compliance requirements
Prepare and submit financial and narrative reports for funders
Assist with donor communications and development tasks in coordination with the Development Coordinator
Support the Executive Director with administrative and fundraising-related functions as needed
Represent ConnectiKids in meetings with funders, partners, and donors
Participate in training and onboarding to gain a deep understanding of ConnectiKids' mission, programs, and impact
Collaborate closely with the Development and Marketing teams to align messaging and strategy
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, or professional writing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Experience with grant reporting, budgeting, and CRM/database systems (training provided)
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team
Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism, primarily when representing the organization externally
Basic understanding of nonprofit budgets and financial documentation for grants
Passion for education, youth development, and social justice
Additional Details:
The position is part-time, 30 hours/week.
Employees work 45 weeks annually, with two weeks off in August and two weeks off in December–January.
Office hours are Monday–Friday from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
Complete training provided, including on ConnectiKids programs, systems, and grant history
Free annual professional development opportunities are available, including training in grant writing, CRM systems, CPR certification, fundraising, and donor relations.
Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with diverse teams.
