About the Role: We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented Traffic Sign Designer to join our team. We prefer candidates with prior graphic design experience who can jump into the work quickly, but we’re also open to training recent graduates or early-career designers who show strong potential. You’ll design street and traffic signs that meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) standards — we’ll provide training on these regulations.

If you have a sharp eye for detail, enjoy precise work, and want to see your designs contribute to safer roads, this role is for you.

    What You’ll Do:

Create accurate sign layouts using industry-standard design software

Learn and apply DOT and MUTCD standards for sign size, color, typography, and reflectivity

Prepare final design files for production

Review and revise designs to ensure quality and compliance

Collaborate with production staff to ensure designs translate smoothly into finished signs

Maintain organized digital files and project records

    What We’re Looking For:

    Previous graphic design experience preferred

Degree or coursework in graphic design, visual communication, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or similar design software

Experience with FlexiSIGN software a plus

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical guidelines

Eagerness to learn and adapt to specialized design standards

    Strong organizational and communication skills

Why Work With Us: We’re a team that values precision, safety, and quality in everything we do. You’ll get hands-on training in a niche design field, competitive pay, solid benefits, and the satisfaction of knowing your work helps keep roads safe.

How to Apply: Send your resume, portfolio (if available), and a brief introduction to Courtney@floridaroadway.com with the subject line “Traffic Sign Designer Application.”
