  • Responsibilities

    The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team of professionals as a Graphic Designer.

    The Graphic Designer will work directly with the Creative Director and the Marketing team to create materials for both print and digital YMCA promotions. The ideal candidate will learn to interpret brand standards and mission in visual communication, and develop their professional workstyle learning to attend meetings, meet deadlines, work from concepts and creative direction, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Creation of graphics and design layouts for print and digital to include ads, flyers, banners, emails, website, marquee, social media, etc.
    • Collaboration with the MarComm team to support campaigns and offer design solutions
    • Assists with the compilation of fact sheets, reports, and the presentation of marketing collateral and design
    • Assist in making revisions to past and current design projects
    • Assists the MarComm department in digital asset management, including organizing, categorizing and tagging the department's photographic, video, and digital media
    • Under the guidance of Chief Marketing Officer, the Graphic Designer works directly with the Creative Director and the marketing team to ideate multiple concepts that meet the goals of the creative brief
    • Assists in management of the library of templates and custom design projects
    • Coordinate/develop/fulfil creative requests from the different program directors and other members of the YMCA team
    • Works with the Creative Director to develop success metrics and review branch design/make recommendations for improvement if needed.
    • Works directly with the Creative Director for accuracy and design completion to accomplish project objectives on time and within budget

    Skills/ Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred
    • Strong organizational skills and effective time management skills; effectively manage multiple projects with deadlines in an efficient manner
    • Experience working independently and following directions, with minimal supervision
    • Independent self-starter with effective problem solving skills and the ability to analyze and integrate information from relevant sources and make appropriate decisions
    • Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (CC) and MS Office
    • Working knowledge of WordPress with an understanding of HTML/CSS
    • Knowledge of how to prep artwork for both digital and print purposes

    Pay Rate: $45,000 to $52,000/year
