  • Responsibilities

    The primary responsibility of this position is to direct, coordinate, and execute material planning of BOM (Bill-of-material(s) for Shop projects and to manage inventory levels. A successful candidate should possess the following: strong communication skills, professional attributes, proficient computer skills, technical capabilities and critical thinking skills. Additionally, this role needs to be capable of oversight responsibilities for a workforce.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Manages the operational aspects for tasks as outlined above.
    2. Calculate net required materials to order from the BOM
    3. Work closely with Purchasing, Inventory, Engineering and other company departments to gather required information: i.e., leadtimes, production schedules, specifications, stock levels, etc.
    4. Initiate and track purchase requisitions to support material planning function.
    5. Receive materials in JDE system.
    6. Creates and maintains all material planning documents.
    7. Monitor materials and delivery schedules to support production schedule.
    8. Communicate bottlenecks to Management as required. Expedite as needed.
    9. Develop sources, obtain quotations as required.
    10. Match material requests (BOM) to projects; costing based on data per project.
    11. Responsible for input for adding MPW items and recommended inventory levels.
    12. Cost tracking per asset based on repair orders.
    13. Looks for ways to continually improve the process.
    14. Performs other duties as directed.

    Required Experience

    1. Associates degree or appropriate experience in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
    2. 2-4 years of material planning, scheduling, or production control is preferred. Experience in dealing production, inventory or maintenance is a plus.
    3. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently is a must.
    4. Candidates should have proficiency with all MS Office applications, especially Excel. Experience with JD Edwards preferred.
    5. Hands-on ability is a must.
    6. Professional oral and written interpersonal communication.
    7. Individually motivated.
