    ABOUT STAMFORD HEALTH

    Full Time 37.50 hours 

    Provides administrative support to the Sleep Center to insure smooth and efficient operations. Coordinates patient scheduling, pre-certification and/or insurance verification, billing of services, and other related operations. Acts as liaison with vendor(s) providing Sleep Center services and equipment. Provides clerical support to the Medical Director of the Sleep Center. 

    MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Coordinates the scheduling of patients for appropriate testing. This includes setting up appointments and notifying vendor/technician of patient schedules. Provides appropriate information to the patient at time of scheduling. Obtains appropriate information from referring physician and/or patient and inputs into database.

    Verifies insurance coverage and/or pre-certification, inputs data for billing and reimbursement. Follows appropriate procedures to insure appropriate charges are generated. May follow-up with patients and/or third party payors to insure maximum reimbursement. 

    Understands and provides information as necessary for appropriate separation of billing regarding technical and professional services. 

    Is proficient in database/spreadsheet software provided by vendor and/or Hospital. Maintains databases/spreadsheets as appropriate. Prepares reports as requested. 

    Provides information to patients and physician offices regarding available services. Responds to billing and vendor issues, insurance queries, etc. May assist with mailings of marketing literature as assigned. 

    Ensures that reports and interpretations are distributed in a timely manner. 

    Assists in preparation of regular reports for quality assurance monitoring. 

    Sets up and maintains patient files. Reviews files as necessary to insure appropriate documentation is in place. 

    Provides administrative support ensuring excellent customer service and efficient and cost effective operations. 

    Keeps vendors, technician, physician(s), and director apprised of appropriate operations issues. Assists in the development of procedures and documentation to insure efficient operations of sleep services.

    Required Skills

     QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 

    • High School diploma is required, Associates Degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years of health care operations experience.
    • Medical terminology, in-depth knowledge of PC operations, Microsoft Office, Health Care Coding (CPT, ICD-9, IPC Codes), and reimbursement and third party payors is required.

     

     

     

    Required Experience

    High School Diploma and minimum 3 years experience in health care operations is required. Experience in a physician’s office is preferred by not required. Medical terminology, in-depth knowledge of PC operations, Microsoft Office, Health Care Coding (CPT, ICD-9, IPC Codes), and reimbursement and third party payors is required.
