  • Responsibilities

    The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner functions as an Advanced Practice clinician, playing a significant role in delivering comprehensive healthcare to infants, children, and adolescents in an outpatient office setting. The Nurse Practitioner will report to the Pediatric Department Chair and working collaboratively as part of a pediatric team with the pediatricians. The Advance Practice Practitioner is expected to provide comprehensive general pediatric preventative care ensuring the wellbeing of pediatric patients through various stages of growth and development, treating childhood illnesses, and addressing the healthcare needs of pediatric patients and their families.

    Required Skills

    1. Demonstrated expertise as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
    2. Proficiency in health education, disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for a range of pediatric illnesses.
    3. Ability to deliver comprehensive instructions and education regarding various diseases.
    4. Effective collaboration with physicians for patient care coordination and referrals.
    5. Strong skills in communicating with parents and patients regarding their health care.
    6. Thorough understanding of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
    7. Leadership qualities and the ability to take initiative.
    8. Exceptional customer service orientation.
    9. Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, including conflict resolution.
    10. Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

    Required Experience

    1. Valid and current Pediatric Nurse Practitioner License in California.
    2. Graduation from an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Master's Program.
    3. A minimum of two to five years of relevant experience in a pediatric clinical environment.
    4. Ongoing engagement in professional development and continuing educational activities to maintain licensure.
    5. Board Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
