  • Responsibilities

    Planning and Engineering of space and equipment in a space constrained environment for multiple locations as part of a large project to replace existing equipment.

    The Engineer is responsible for design and material procurement to meet installation schedules and project requirements.

    This position requires the individual to manage time schedules, technology, and capital to meet network timelines and within budget.

    Must demonstrate proficiency in creating and modifying rack face elevation drawings and be capable of planning and communicating changes effectively within a cross-functional team.

    Must provide complete equipment specifications for Network projects as defined by network deployment plans. Engineering plan should cover cell site hardware with emphasis on the radio access network,, transmission equipment, power equipment, batteries, cables, floor space planning, and miscellaneous hardware.

    Design, specify, and document special equipment configurations when required by site-specific construction situations. Work closely with all engineering groups in the Network team including RF -Design, Real Estate, Construction, Network Assurance, and System Performance.

    Required Skills

    Assess available space and ability to install new equipment, remove existing equipment, and manage through a complex equipment change-out in space constrained hub sites. Read and develop design diagrams, understand RAN equipment requirements and specifications. Order and oversee the installation and removal of equipment for on-time installations.

    Required Experience

    Manage outside vendors and contractors to effectively to meet shipping and installation commitments.

    Close attention to detail is a requirement.

    Must have excellent organizational skills.

    Excellent team, project management, and communications skills.

    Must be self-motivated, show initiative, and be able to work independently. Must be highly productive and able to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously.

    Knowledge of databases, Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite applications, web-based application, and software tool packages.
