  • Responsibilities

    This position will help those affected by the opioid crisis with referrals for counseling and supportive services and guide them as they prepare for new careers. The Peer Recovery Navigator will also connect eligible individuals to career and training services to prepare them for jobs addressing the opioid crisis, including credentialed counselors and recovery coaches. This is an opportunity for the right person to put her/his lived experience to work and contribute to creating a healthier and safer community. This is a grant-funded, temporary, full-time position. Funding is secure for one year with the possibility of a second year.

    Required Skills

    • Minimum of High School Diploma plus at least two years of related work experience or an Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • Must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
      • Dislocated worker
        • An individual temporarily or permanently laid off as a consequence of the Opioid Crisis
        • A long-term unemployed individual
        • A self-employed individual who became unemployed or significantly underemployed as a result of the Opioid Crisis
    • Experience with the addiction recovery process.
    • Familiarity with local support services and resources.
    • Training as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist is preferred, but willing to train.
    • Computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to relate well with all segments of the public.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and access to daily, reliable and insured transportation.
    • Bi-lingual skills preferred.
