Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services(GCB) has an opening for a Business Analyst Intern - we are seeking a detail oriented, inquisitive, self-motivated, and creative individual to assist our agency's business analyst with data analysis to support both business operations and behavioral health care clinical functions. POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as the Business Analyst Intern for the agency, providing support to the Senior Business Analyst, senior leadership team, and departmental staff for 12-15 weeks. Performs business and data analysis to support both business operations and behavioral health care clinical functions. Extracts data from various databases and other data sources to create datasets for analysis. Creates annual reports for specific grant-funded programs in order to maintain funding and improve service delivery. Uses data driven approaches to provide business intelligence to support decision making. Provides not only data, but graphical representations, observations, conclusions, and insights (where appropriate). Provided interest and time remaining, works on special projects as determined by employee and supervisor. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Full-time position at 40 hours per week starting in the summer of 2023. The position is expected to last 12-15 weeks with the potential for part-time work based on performance and interest. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Senior Business Analyst, and/or anyone designated by the Chief Operating Officer SUPERVISIORY RESPONSIBILITY: No direct reports. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a relevant field; such as Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Healthcare Administration. Experience extracting data from database systems, manipulating/summarizing data, and performing data analysis. Experience creating data reports and visual graphs. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and its data functions. ADVANTAGEOUS BUT NOT REQUIRED: Experience with SQL. Experience with R, Python, or similar coding language. Experience in healthcare or Electronic Health Records systems ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Analyze various datasets to monitor grant objectives * Extract and compile submitted data from source systems for the purpose of grant evaluation * Perform multi-variate analysis on time-series data * Assist with the maintenance of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting functions for clinical leadership * Build and maintain report automation capabilities * Handle standard data requests from internal or external customers * Create visualizations to communicate progress on various metrics and client outcomes * Perform other ad-hoc requests as determined and assigned by supervisor SKILL COMPETENCIES: Strong data, detailed analysis, and problem solving skills. Microsoft Excel skills to manipulate data , create formulas, calculations, and visual graphs. Demonstrated analytical and research skills to gather, assess, and synthesize data. Excellent analytical and math skills. Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner, in both written and oral communication.
