    EVENTS ASSOCIATE

    SUMMARY

    The Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce is looking to fill a part time position of Events Coordinator. This key position will be responsible for coordinating events and vendor oversight as well as responsibilities of carrying out and supporting the mission of the Chamber.

    Work in a fast paced team environment. Manage multiple events including: Issaquah Salmon Days; Community Awards; Great Careers, Eastside Regional Business Summit, Shop Local Programs, Chamber Luncheons, and others..

    Responsible for complete oversight of all vendor operations and processes for Salmon Days.

    Collaborate with web-site and e-commerce creation, implementation and updating; social media outreach; publicity and marketing; volunteer oversight.

    Must be available for occasional weekends, early morning, and evening events/meetings. Must be available Labor Day – October 30th for additional hours and must work Salmon Days weekend (the first full weekend in October).

    Part-time position in a fun and exciting office environment with occasional outdoor and out of office activities. Some lifting is required, and long hours of standing may be required during events.

    Job Duties:

    Salmon Days

    Coordinate all aspects of vendor applications, recruitment, jurying, communication, processing and booth placement, event set-up and on-site management, and follow-up after the event. Record keeping and invoicing.

    Outreach to local businesses and residents in identifying Festival schedule, layout and mapping.

    Work with volunteers, vendors and staff.

    Work with graphic designer for theme development for events, incorporating theme to collateral material and annual website creation and maintenance.

    Manuals/binders, event documentation and forms creation, distribution.

    Coordinate, support and attend Festival Committee meetings and events.

    Pre-production coordination and communication (infrastructure).

    Generate and proof information to be included in numerous programs and guides.

    Assist with marketing and promotions including: social media; press releases; online event calendars; ad placement; community outreach; print event calendars; print marketing such as flyers, table tops, posters, postcards; Website development and maintenance.

    Other Events

    Manage and organize multiple components in collaboration with staff for other Festivals including: recruit vendors, wineries, breweries, restaurants, bands, volunteers, and special attractions/projects; Assess needs and design layout, mapping; Communications relative to vendor participation; Volunteer coordination; ticket sales, record keeping, design, printing; payment processing and reporting.

    Collaborate with staff and with graphic designer for annual theme development, incorporating theme to collateral material and annual website creation and maintenance.

    Manuals/binders, event documentation and forms creation, distribution.

    Coordinate, support and attend Festival Committee meetings and events.

    Pre-production coordination and communication (infrastructure).

    Research and recruitment at other events.

    Provide statistical data to Director of Festivals, Sponsor Manager, Chamber CEO and Board of Directors as required.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Knowledge of events

    Ability to deal with Chamber members and staff professionally and with discretion

    Be organized and finish a number of tasks on a daily basis.

    Strong computer skills

    Educational Qualification and Experience:

    This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of event experience. Prefer a bachelor degree in Business or Hospitality. Individual needs to have strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office. Additional computer skills in graphic design are highly desirable. Individual must have the ability to work independently and multi-task.

    The Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce is a fun, exciting fast paced environment. We are looking for a team player to join us. This is a part-time position with great exposure to community leaders, leadership training, and the knowledge you are helping to create the largest two day festival in the State of Washington. Salary is commensurate to experience, with a starting range of $18-21 per hour.
