Marketing and Communications Specialist
Marketing and Communications is an integral part of our organization. Our Marketing & Communication Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director in developing and executing communication and marketing strategies and tactics consistent with the organization’s values and principles. This position will be responsible for creating increased awareness and visibility while positively impacting the reputation of the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce.
This position is responsible for communicating and managing our brand across all mediums: Website, print, social media, events, blog, radio, video and television. This position is also responsible for working with the city, local businesses, members, and the community to communicate their messages out to a larger audience via our website, calendar, e-blast, emails, videos, social media platforms, etc.
This person will manage and execute all programs assigned to communicating with our members and the general public, while adhering to our organization’s values and principles. This person must be comfortable working with a variety of businesses and professionals.
Other than regular job duties assigned to this position this person will also work with us on events such as Salmon Days, 4th of July and all smaller events that take place during business hours as well as in the evening, early mornings, and weekends. Marketing and Communications reports directly to the Executive Director/CEO. Job Duties: The core tasks for this position will be to educate the community on the Chamber’s role and to promote our investors by producing consistent, credible and compelling communications using multiple means; and ensuring that messaging and brand are consistent throughout all communications.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Create a process of two way communications to facilitate the sharing of vital information, issues and ideas among all Chamber investors
Managing and creating content for multiple websites, including posting information, photos and calendar items
Responsible for content and distribution for our electronic communications including: e-e-blasts, newsletters, blog, chamber master announcements, and community calendar
Create and maintain strong communications with the business community
Create and maintain our electronic communications including: e-blasts, newsletters, blog, chamber master announcements, video, advertising mediums, calendars, and print
Attend, photograph and take video of events on behalf of the Chamber
Interview members for the newsletter, awards, recognition, and testimonials
Work with publishers in producing printed guides and directories
Track membership activity to ensure members are being kept informed
Attend Chamber events and help where needed
Create and maintain Chamber brand, making sure all communications and marketing materials are consistent with the Chambers brand, language, and values.
Maintain website and social media for content and provide necessary changes as needed
Create content that will brand and market the Chamber. Content will include vision, mission, services, advocacy, education, leadership, partnerships, opportunities, strategies, sales tools, etc.
Work closely with all Chamber staff as part of a team that works closely to complete tasks and objects based on overall needs of the organization. Learn from each other and be willing and able to work on other projects that might be outside of your area of expertise or comfort zone. Answer directly to the Executive Director.
Assist the organization with any needed correspondence, marketing, branding, website content development, membership needs, scheduling of marketing campaigns, growth opportunities, identifying new opportunities to communicate with the community, etc.
Grow communication by creating exciting content, engaging the public, creating stronger and broader marketing opportunities with the city and other community entities that will provide greater bandwidth to educate broader audiences about the Chamber
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent communication and relationship skills, written, verbal and in person. Ability to work and speak in front a large audience.

Experience in marketing, creating and building strong brand recognition, customer service, community engagement, maintaining strong relationship and partnerships, strategic planning, team building, multi-tasking, ability to meet deadlines and manage multi programs and schedules.
Photoshop, Adobe, Video Editing, Graphics, Excel, Constant Contact, Social Media Platforms, Hootsuite, Branding, Word, Wordpress and other website platforms such as Wix and/or Weebly.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
Degree in marketing preferred. Candidate must possess a minimum of a high school education, be articulate, have excellent writing skills, the ability to proof read and correct correspondence, and have a have a high level of working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, video, graphics and social media sites.
Must be willing and able to learn website, CRM, Constant Contact and other means of communication, used by the Chamber.

Salaries and Benefits:
The Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce is a fun, exciting fast paced environment. We are looking for a team player to join the team and grow with our organization. 30 - 37.50 hours per week. Salary range is $16 - $22 an hour commensurate to experience. Vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays included.
