    Summary⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The Greater St. Louis, Inc. Research Intern is a college or graduate student or recent graduate, looking to apply and develop their business skills in a regional civic-leadership organization that champions inclusive growth for the St. Louis region. Greater St. Louis, Inc. partners with local businesses, institutions, and organizations to advance a bold agenda for regional economic development.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The Research Intern will assist in identifying and collecting research, summarization and communication of information, organization of data resources, and other tasks through a variety of resources. The internship will provide a holistic and authentic economic development work experience by offering hands-on research assignments related to Greater St. Louis, Inc.’s initiatives, including AllianceSTL. The Greater St. Louis, Inc. Summer Internship will last for approximately three months during the summer, from mid-May through mid-August 2022.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀This is a paid internship.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Reports to: Vice President ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀Responding to research inquiries from business prospects, members, and the publicAssist in research, writing, and analysis for projects, including building county data profiles in the metropolitan region and creating baseline data for key economic and community metricsAssisting in the design, collection, and analysis of data for a variety of business related surveys and building and maintaining internal informationPerform additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to you by Greater St. Louis, Inc.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀Education: ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀Undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate in a business, public policy/political science, economics, communications, or related field preferred ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀Experience, Skills, & Abilities: ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀Employment or volunteer experience working in an office or professional setting preferredOutstanding written communication skills; able to convey Greater St. Louis, Inc. priorities to community stakeholders and develop written work product on complex policy matters or other topicsFoundational knowledge of business principles, economics, and local and state government preferredStrong organizational skills, including attention to detailDependable, able to consistently meet deadlines on time-sensitive projectsAble to effectively coordinate with a diverse team of coworkers and stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and multi-taskExperience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ About Greater St. Louis, Inc.: Greater St. Louis, Inc. is a 501(c)(6) organization of businesses formed through the merger of five private-sector led and St. Louis-focused economic development and civic leadership organizations on January 1, 2021.
