    We are a licensed social and emotional development focused before and after school care program for children ages 5-12 in the Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle. We are close to and on bus lines from several local colleges. We are looking for after school substitutes who loves working with kids and have experience with child care to join our team! This position is part time, has flexible hours and is a fun place to make extra money while you are in school. Position Hours: The position is for after school substituting. Our hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:00-6:00 and Wednesdays 12:45-6:00. Please be generally available for at least two of those days to apply for the position. Subs are not on call and are free to say yes or no to all shifts requested. Additional hours are available for school break days when the program is open for the full day (6:30AM to 6:00PM). Green Lake School Age Care Program (GLSA) is a state licensed, nonprofit, social and emotional learning based child care program dedicated to creating meaningful relationships with children and working together with families to help raise caring, socially aware, happy and emotionally intelligent young people. We use research based communication tools to help us create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for the 66 five through twelve year olds we have in our care every day. Staff are given support in developing these skills. Job duties: Staff provide children support in managing any difficulties they may have with other children, facilitate projects, maintain our activity schedule, help children with homework and interpersonal issues and generally create a wonderful and enriching space for children to learn and grow. Job requirements: Staff are required to pass a back ground check, be CPR/1st Aid certified or complete upon hiring and provide documentation of a negative TB test which can be done once hired. Our organization reimburses for all training costs and job requirements.
