    Overview

    Green Sage Cafe is hiring a Kitchen Manager. We are seeking dependable & hardworking individuals, who are comfortable with working 45 hours per week, who are passionate about serving delicious, healthy meals to our customers, and who can help lead our staff in doing so. Shifts are between the hours of 7am-5pm so no late nights are required. Kitchen Managers can expect to work 45 hours per week.

    Responsibilities

    While overseeing the daily operations of the business, the General Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing organization policies and procedures.

    Provide exceptional service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.

    Continuously train kitchen staff on all products, specs, and recipes to ensure proper food quality.

    Attend weekly manager meetings. Be prepared to discuss financials, employee performance, goals, marketing, and any other issues.

    Ensure all kitchen orders are placed in a timely manner and be mindful of the suggested budget.

    Ensure all budget sheets have been accurately completed. Communicate any budget overages to the General Manager.

    Manage the linen budget by checking the linen company’s par levels and deliveries, and maintain appropriate levels of inventory. Complete kitchen inventory once per period.

    Manage cleaning supplies, operating supplies, and disposable paper products.

    Update par levels on prep sheets at least once per period. Communicate with employees and managers on any prepped items. Ensure any prep issues are communicated to appropriate persons.

    Ensure all line spec books, station visuals, prep recipe books, and line checks are accurate and up to date. Ensure line checks are being done twice per day and recipes are being followed.

    Complete Health Inspection checklist daily. Communicate any issues to managers and employees to ensure the issues are addressed immediately.

    Achieve and maintain a minimum health score of 98%.

    Maintain active communication with the General Manager and the Food and Beverage Director.

    Requirements

    Must have at least 1 year of kitchen management and culinary experience. Natural food experience is a plus.

    Must be Manager ServSafe Certified

    Exhibit Leadership and Foster Teamwork

    Show Initiative and Demonstrate Adequate Communication Skills

    Adept in using software programs like Excel and willingness to learn new software programs for scheduling and costing

    Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day
