Sales and Business Development Specialist
Role Objectives: Responsible for business development, i.e., research and develop marketing opportunities, prepare bids, and effectively communicate and implement the applicable sales plan and individual sales goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Forecast projected business and establish and meet sales strategies and objectives based on consumer requirements, market and target market share, and competitor's share, strengths and weaknesses
· Develop lead generation plans with targets, measures, and objectives, using data and trends and follow up on sales leads
· Sustain rapport with key accounts through periodic visits; explore needs and anticipate new opportunities
· Attend tradeshows, maritime meetings, company sponsored promotions and customer events
· Participate in monthly sales and quarterly sales/operations meetings
· Develop and maintain sales proposals and collateral, desktop publishing, rate cards, newsletters, brochures, and other marketing materials
· Maintain internal rate sheet for quick response to bids
· Regularly interface with port managers, vendors, etc. through visits to offices and local terminals, attend manager meetings, and conduct team building exercises
· Participate in ISO internal meetings, discussions of lessons learned, and review of system improvement forms and their resolutions
· Identify best practices opportunities/training needs and communicate them to VP of Sales
· Continually scout and recruit talent and M&A opportunities

Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field required
Equivalent years of work experience may be substituted for degree requirement
Experience:
· At least 5 years of prior experience in maritime shipping sales required
· Prior management experience preferred Knowledge Requirements:
· General P&L understanding
· Maritime operations
