Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide front line assistance to our agents, carriers, and underwriting staff including responses to e-mails and phone calls, issuing policies and endorsements, requesting and following up for account information, and maintaining electronic files.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide timely and professional customer service to producers, carriers, and underwriters to facilitate processing of business.
- Process incoming submissions for both logistics and trucking business.
- Issue binders and invoices on new and renewal business in a timely manner.
- Process both premium and non-premium bearing endorsements and invoice when applicable.
- Process federal and/or state filings as directed by the underwriter.
- Accurately compute and invoice surplus lines taxes, state fees, etc. and file with state when applicable.
- Screen Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) for eligibility per carrier guidelines and report to carrier if required.
- Process policy cancellations, reinstatements and/or non-renewals as requested by insured, premium finance companies, carriers, etc.
- Accurately issue policies according to the information provided by the underwriter and guidelines provided by the carrier.
- Comply with both insurance, carrier and regulatory guidelines and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and response of both internal and external carrier audits.
- Manage diary system to ensure all required information or documentation is received within established time-frame.
- Provide required documents and requested information to carrier personnel.
- Provide confirmation of pertinent policy information to Premium Finance Companies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, GTU mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operation instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Keep management informed on the status of day to day-to-day operations and other projects assigned.
- Investigate & analyze problems and recommend appropriate course(s) of action to management.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide backup support to front desk by handing items such as handling incoming mail, new & renewal business submission file set-up, and new & renewal broker file set-up.
- Assist management with work on special projects including loss run review and data entry.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- 4-Year Degree or Equivalent Work Experience Preferred
- Customer Service Experience, a Plus
