    FINTech Teaching Assistant   (TEMPORARY, SUMMER ONLY, In-Person)     

    Location: Chicago, IL     

    Compensation: $25/hour, 30-40 hours per week, contract employee, no benefits.     

    The Greenwood Project is a non-profit whose mission is to introduce Black and Latinx students to the financial services industry. Our flagship summer programs run from June 6th to August 12th in 2022. TA training will comprise approximately 10 hours and will take place throughout the month of May. We are seeking to hire FinTech Teaching Assistants for these weeks to support approximately 160 high school and college students with financial coursework, career readiness skills, the basics of coding using Python and R, coding projects and tasks, administrative tracking, and one-on-one support,   

    For the first four weeks, TAs will support our College students. For the remaining 6 weeks, TAs will support our High School students. TAs will play a vital role in executing the logistics and operations of both programs, supporting with the teaching and facilitation of curricular content alongside volunteers and Greenwood staff, and supporting students toward the successful completion of their final projects.    

    Requirements:     

    • Completed bachelor's degree.  

    • Demonstrated experience with facilitating lessons and curriculum toward student mastery of complex concepts.   

    • Baseline understanding of the following financial industry topics, preferred: Excel, PowerPoint, accounting, financial reports, corporate finance, and coding using Python and R. Or the ability to work ahead of students to master this content prior to student engagement.  

    • Professional programming experience or experience teaching coding, preferred.  

    • All programs will be in-person; thus, an ability to commute to downtown Chicago Monday-Friday is required.

    • Reflective: Leaves every day striving to make the next day better and is eager for feedback.  
    • Innovative: Generates and builds supports for students, rather than just relying on support provided.
