    POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Financial Controller is a results-oriented professional with experience in financial management, leadership of effective teams and creation of business planning and management reporting which support an organization’s strategic objectives. The person in this position will report to the CFO and work closely with the Practice Area Leaders (PAL’s) and the Executive Director, Consulting Resources to ensure that the firm’s client-facing leaders have the tools and support they need to drive and manage a robust pipeline of business and deliver net profit margins.

    • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure for internal and external audits
    • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
    • Manage all financial and accounting reporting out of Intacct
    • Manage all sales and pipeline data reporting out of Salesforce
    • Manage the daily banking and cash flow requirements
    • Manage budget and forecasting activities for financial statements and grant administration
    • Collaborate with the other department managers to support departmental goals and objectives
    • Monitor and analyze departmental work to develop efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
    • Advise organizational staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
    • Respond to inquiries from the finance team and managers regarding financial results, special reports and other requests
    • Work with the Senior Accountant to ensure a clean and timely year-end financial audit and single audit
    • Oversee with the preparation of annual financial statement year end audit and related state tax and federal tax balances
    • Supervise general ledger, A/P, and A/R for accuracy and timeliness
    • Lead strategic development and implementation of new processes and procedures to enhance performance workflow for departmental work
    • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
    • Handle staffing issues such as, performance reviews, PTO administration, etc
    • Work with each direct report to establish annual goals, monitor progress, and enhance staff professional development
    • Complete special projects, workflow process improvements, and other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES 

    • BA/BS in in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
    • CPA preferred
    • Demonstrated progressive experience in financial reporting
    • Experience managing people
    • Experience with Intacct and Salesforce
    • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel
    • Ability to establish, cultivate and nurture high value relationships with the team, across the organization, and with clients
    • Demonstrated clear and concise communication and presentation skills  - both verbal and written
    • Ability to identify problems and determine the best course of action for their resolution, including knowing when to communicate and engage others
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects demonstrating structured organization and astute attention to detail
    • Ability to meet deadlines
    • Demonstrates sound discretion, professional judgement and business ethics in decision making
