    Job Description

    Greystone is seeking an Operations Manager for its Lincoln, Rhode Island machining plant. The qualified candidate must have direct manufacturing experience in a leadership role.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Direct day to day manufacturing to achieve established production goals.
    • Lead an operations team of 120 employees to continuously improve operating efficiencies.
    • Manage operating costs to established budgets; Labor to sales ratio critical.
    • Coordinate hiring and staffing requirements including vacations, attendance and employee morale.
    • Lead operator training and compliance program.
    • Lead safety initiatives to achieve establishes goals.
    • Lead SPC, layered audits and daily work procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
    • Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure machine up-time goals are met.
    • Work closely with the Engineering Manager, Second Operations Manager and Quality Manager to maximize plant safety, quality, efficiency and profitability.

    QUALITY

    • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with company quality policy and other plant quality certifications.
    • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives with machinists, quality engineering, and other support functions.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.

    SCHEDULING

    • Coordinate team efforts to meet customer demand on a daily basis.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.

    COST MANAGEMENT

    • Monitor consumable supply usage, report issues to plant management, and make recommendations for new products.
    • Manage consumable supplies to budget.
    • Manage overtime to budget.

    INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Work independently to supervise and direct associates in assigned team.
    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
    • Conduct daily meetings with team to review goals and shift change instructions.
    • Work independently to meet delivery schedules; seeks help when additional resources are required.
    • Develop key interdepartmental relationships with engineering, quality assurance, sales and customers to effectively expedite orders to satisfy the company’s commitment to 100% customer satisfaction.
    • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and complete within required timeline.
    • Read, understand, and develop operational reports, schedules, and other reports.
    • Additional duties as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mechanical preferred.
    • 5+ years’ leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in machine turning.
    • Automotive Industry and quality systems experience preferred.
    • Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
    • Excellent problem solving skills.
    • Project management experience.
    • Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and ADP time/attendance software.
