SUMMARY:

This role is responsible in working with a Storm Damage Assessor as part of a two-person team. This is an on-call position. The Driver will be responsible for driving Damage Assessors to and from various worksites, patrolling electrical distribution facilities assessing damage caused by a storm or natural disaster. This is a 1099 Contract Position. PAY is DOE $25.00 - 35.00 with overtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a driver in a two-person team

• Assist the Assessor with taking notes, reading maps, and other miscellaneous tasks not requiring utility experience.

• Responsible for controlling traffic and informing others of downed lines, poles, tree on lines or any other hazards.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The position requires someone physically capable of driving or sitting in a vehicle while during various weather and terrain conditions. Weather conditions may include snow, ice, rain, wind, or high heat/humidity. The terrain conditions may include but are not limited to off-road rural areas in swampy or overgrown ways, mountainous terrain.

Travel throughout the Southeast United States Region is required!

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The contractor is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to work the daily hours required by utility’s work schedule until completion of the restoration work and released by the utility (Unless management states otherwise)

• Must have valid driver license

• Must have a reliable vehicle with valid insurance
