    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    This position is responsible to lead continuous improvement across the entire Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake organizations including Lean Manufacturing, Q-First Breakthrough Quality, Technical Training, Six Sigma, and the Process Management System (ISO/TS). 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

    • Lead and motivate teams of people to continuously improve systems and processes across the entire Bendix/BSFB business organizations.
    • Use diverse knowledge, technical tools and facilitation skills to collaborate globally to continuously improve our business using Six Sigma tools and methodologies (Six Sigma initiative).
    • Use diverse knowledge, technical tools and facilitation skills to collaborate globally to continuously improve our business to drive to 0 defects via our Q-First initiative.
    • Use diverse knowledge, technical tools and facilitation skills to collaborate globally to continuously improve our business using Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies (KPS initiative).
    • Use diverse knowledge, technical tools and facilitation skills to collaborate globally to continuously improve our business by leading our Process Management System (Knorr Excellence-ISO/TS).
    • Use diverse knowledge, technical tools and facilitation skills to collaborate globally to continuously improve our business through Technical Learning(Bendix University initiative).

    KNOWLEDGE: 

    • Possesses extensive knowledge with respect to how all functions/systems interact from the highest level down to the shop floor execution within a business.
    • Possesses extensive knowledge of Six Six Sigma.
    • Possesses extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
    • Possesses working knowledge of Quality Management and Process Management Systems.
    • Possesses extensive knowledge with respect to problem solving.
    • Possesses extensive knowledge of Business Systems in both a Manufacturing and Central Function climate .
    • Possesses a basic knowledge of learning theory and Organizational Change Theory
    • Possesses extensive knowledge of how to facilitate/lead change.

     

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • A minimum of 10 years of experience leading change/continuous improvement in manufacturing and central function environments is required.
    • Demonstrated leadership of Lean Kaizen events associated with all areas of Lean (5s, Standardized Work, Total Productive Maintenance, Pull Systems, Strategic Layout Planning) in manufacturing environment is required.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience with deploying use of Six Sigma tools and methodologies is preferred.
    • A minimum of 5 years experience as a participant or leading Process Management Systems. ISO/TS16949 is preferred.
    • Prior experience with Advanced Quality Planning is preferred.
    • Prior experience with leading Organizational Change is preferred.

    SKILLS: 

    • Required to have demonstrated successful Leadership skills and abilities.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to genuinely work with individuals at all levels of the organization and coach them to succeed.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to define/implement strategic programs.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate globally to define and implement global strategies.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to teach and/or facilitate kaizen events in both a factory and office culture using tools and methodologies from across diverse backgrounds--Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Advanced Quality Planning, etc.
    • Must demonstrate proficiency with computer software and hardware tools--i.e Microsoft Office, Product Life Management Systems (PLM), Learning Management Systems(LMS) desired, SAP/BW preferred.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to drive collaboration and team work across all levels of a matrix organization.
    • Must demonstrate a commitment to integrity with respect to the adherence to Processes and the handling of data, analysis and reporting.

    EDUCATION: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical discipline is required.
    • MBA/Advanced degree preferred.
    • Six Sigma certification(Greenbelt, Blackbelt, Master Blackbelt) preferred.
    • Lean Manufacturing Certification preferred.
    • Advanced Quality Planning training preferred.
