  • Responsibilities

    The Framingham Heart Study Brain Aging Program (FHS-BAP) is responsible for neuropsychological, neurological, and brain imaging exams with participants in all FHS cohorts. The FHS-BAP provides ongoing surveillance of participants who have been flagged as possibly having cognitive impairment and does consensus review of flagged participants to determine endpoints related to whether they have dementia, to what degree, and due to which etiology. This position involves work related to both organizations. The primary responsibility will be to work on the Online Money Management (OMM) Study (70% time) and the FHS-BAP studies, in particular a new study involving PET scanning.

    Required Skills

    Minimum requirements include a bachelors degree in psychology or related field, some experience in research, a willingness to work non-traditional hours, proficiency with MS Office, and familiarity with academic (psychology and decision-making related) databases. Knowledge of basic statistics strongly preferred. SPSS and R knowledge is a big plus. Although this position will involve work with the BU-ADRC and the FHS-BAP, it is based at the Framingham Heart Study offices in Framingham. A valid drivers license and a car are required. Administering the novel task requires extensive training, judgement, and on-the-spot training along with excellent person-related skills. The project is focused on collecting data from both healthy older adults and those with clinical diagnosis of dementia. Some background training in neurodegenerative disorder is an added plus.
