  • Responsibilities

    This role is critical in supporting research at Boston University. This position reports to the Director of Finance and Administration and oversees the personnel management of the Office of Research and reporting areas (which includes approximately 450 employees) and provide financial assistance in all budget matters ($50M budget).

     

    The main duties are as follows:

    • Manage the performance evaluation process.
    • Evaluate requests to fill open positions and create new positions.
    • Provide guidance to the area directors, Associate VPs, and center administrators when negotiating staff salaries for new hires, evaluating position descriptions, reviewing off-cycle payments, and equity salary increases.
    • Manage and oversee all personnel matters for the office of research that includes but is not limited to new hires, terminations, grievances, job descriptions, onboarding, disciplinary actions, merit review process, union issues, and temporary employees.

     

    This position will also assist the Director of Finance and Administration on maintaining and forecasting the budget and all day-to-day finance operations.

    Required Skills

    Bachelor's Degree and 5-8 years of experience required. Strong required. organizational skills and attention to detail, multi-tasking, professionalism, customer service attitude, and proactive work style.
