    DESCRIPTION OF INTERNSHIP PROJECT:

     

    PATH Kenya is the lead implementing Partner for the USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto which is a USAID project funded by PEPFAR. The project’s focus is to increase use of high-quality, county-led health and social services, prevent new HIV infections, and reduce OVC and AGYW vulnerability. The project is implemented by PATH Kenya with ADS Nyanza as a consortium partner. The project is implemented at the county level, in the community and health facilities in the counties of Homa Bay, Migori, Nyamira, Kisumu, Kakamega, Vihiga and Kisii, in close collaboration with and support of county health management teams, department of children and social services and the Ministry of Health of Kenya.  

     

    BENEFIT TO INTERN:

     

    The intern will:

     

    1. To help the intern gain valuable experience to aid in transitioning into the workforce.
    2. To encourage the intern to apply the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to realistic situations professional accountants face.

     

    INTERNSHIP’S GOALS AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

     

    This internship is designed to provide practical work experience to students or recent graduates from Clinical/Community field or related field. The intern will work together with the program team in fulfilling the day-to-day duties.

     

    PROPOSED ACTIVITIES:  

     

    The Intern will have the opportunity to learn and work on how to:

     

    • Support the program officers and the M&E officers in the preparation of logistics for off-site activities such as trainings, meetings.
    • During the mentioned activities (meetings, trainings, and workshops), support in participant registration and verification
    • Post activity, support in the compilation of MPESA outputs for the program and M&E teams including verification of the activity to be in line with the approved WAR and budget.
    • Accompany with the program officer in conducting based SSV to facility and community sites.
    • Participate in activities such as PPSGs, MDTs, data review meetings at the site level.
    • Document and report on weekly activities undertaken.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by team.

     

     LEARNING OUTCOMES (HOW THE INTERN’S PERFORMANCE WILL BE EVALUATED):  

     

    Intern will be evaluated based on outcomes of the assigned activities as well as on feedback from colleagues. The intern will meet regularly with internship manager and the rest of the team.

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • An undergraduate Degree or diploma in health-related or community related field.
    • Fresh /recent graduates (at most, graduated in the past 2 years)
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
    • Proficiency in Ms. Office applications, especially word and excel.
    • Drive to be a self-starter.

  • Qualifications
    • Strong business process and system analysis. Ability to recognize problems and implement solutions.
    • Knowledge of SAP Integrated Business Planning(IBP) concepts and transactions, particularly within the automotive and rail industries.
    • Knowledge of SAP APO-PPDS and PP preferred.
    • Knowledge of SAP Automotive Solution desired.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related discipline.
    • Extremely customer focused with a strong sense of urgency.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to successfully team with software vendors, outsourcing partners and Bendix business and IT associates.
    • Excellent communication skills: presentation, written, oral.
    • Self-starter with perseverance and the creativity to overcome obstacles to achieve project objectives.
    • Must be able to perform as an effective member in a team-oriented environment, maintain a positive attitude, and achieve desired results while working with minimal supervision.
    • SAP Academy certification a plus.
    • Participation in ASUG, Sapphire a plus.
